Nashville Nightmare Review

Jason Universe

Spooky season is officially here! October wouldn’t be complete without at least one trip to a haunted house. And Nashville Nightmare delivered yet again. This year they have revamped their four houses, each getting a makeover for the Halloween season. They also added an immersive Friday the 13th Experience in honor of the film’s legacy.

The experience, titled Jason Un13erse, Survive the Night puts you in the director’s seat of Jason’s next big scene. Panic. Strike. Slash. Stalk. Those are the four options you are given upon entering Camp Crystal Lake.  Jason Vorhees is coming for you next. Just when you think you escaped, he will pop up around the next corner of this spooky maze. This is offered as an add-on attraction and I highly recommend it. We were able to get a picture with Jason as well as a limited-edition collector’s patch keepsake.

Two of the houses were brand new to me, Mr. Sweet’s House of Horrors and Creature Feature. In the first mentioned haunt you are transported to a carnival atmosphere. The smell of cotton candy permeates the air as you try to escape evil clowns and other creatures. Mr. Sweet lurks somewhere inside, in search of his next victim. I give this house five stars for its authenticity and cool props.

In the final haunt you are once again the star as you roam through an old movie theater that has since shut down, but one loyal usher has remained. He is more than happy to send you to your doom through eight different scenes. My favorite part of this house was the cats, whom you could hear meowing all throughout. But they are not your friendly average house cats so beware. I also give this haunted house five stars for its jump scares and many different and fun scenes.

It was a quiet night due to weather. I thought there would be more actors about, especially outside of the houses. The ones on duty were good, especially the two manning the doors of the Vector Research and Creature Feature houses.

If you are looking for somewhere to take your family this Halloween look no further than Nashville Nightmare. They have never once disappointed and we’ve been going for the past few years.
