Dan + Shay Heartbreak On The Map Tour Review!

Caught Dan and Shay’s Heartbreak On The Map stop in Nashville at Bridgestone Arena. Was surprised they only played for around 90 minutes. Bought my ticket during presale which I later regretted. For whatever reason tickets went half price BOGO a few weeks before the show. Also , if you are short you might want to think twice about purchasing floor seats. I had two tall men directly in front of me. Luckily, a nice security guard let me move a few rows up into seats that were still vacant. Not going to lie, those two things put a bit of a damper on the whole experience for me. The show itself was great, as always. This was my third time seeing Dan and Shay live and they didn’t disappoint.

Opening acts were decent. Hailey Whitters performed her radio hit “Everything She Ain’t”, as well as her current single “I’m In Love”. In her cute dress, she gushed about how excited she was to be joining Dan and Shay. Next up, Ben Rector was fun, very energetic. Played his hit “Brand New”, which got the crowd going. He joked that he wasn’t country and then proceeded to put on a cowboy hat and play a cover of a country song.

Highlights for me were a few of the old hits, “I Should Probably Go To Bed”, “10,000 Hours”, “Speechless”, and “Tequila”. Not as familiar with the newest album, but it was cool to hear new stuff. My favorite was probably “Always Going To Be”, followed by “Bigger Houses”. The duo also covered The Killer’s “Mr. Brightside”. That was fun, made even more so by the duo running around the arena, through the crowd.

Dan and Shay got emotional a few times, talking about how grateful they were to be back onstage in their hometown. Shay even brought one of his boys onstage to say hi. And Abby was in the soundstage, proudly watching. After the show was over, the boys jumped into the pit to sign autographs and take pictures with fans. Despite everything, the duo remains humble and down to their roots.
