We were invited back to check out Love Bites, Nashville Nightmare’s Valentine’s Day edition. The place was packed with those looking for an alternative celebration. While the vibe was definitely more laid back and toned down than their Christmas edition, it had its own special quality. Love was definitely in the air with two themed haunted houses.
The first was modeled after the hit show Stranger Things, Season 5 by the looks of it. There was a guitar player on top of a school bus playing the theme song. We were greeted at the door by a young guy in his Hellfire club t-shirt and welcomed to the “Upside down”.
Inside they reenacted certain elements from the show. Hawkins lab was a big focus of the attraction, complete with military disturbance. They had at least one Demogorgon monster running around, and a Vecna. Best actor is tied between a long-haired girl in a white gown that was in the library section hollering about Hawkins lab and Barb and a little girl with pigtails that chased us, begging to help her escape. I enjoyed this house so much I went back a second time.
The second featured house was a Bloody Masquerade. We were welcomed by a dark haired young girl and her matching doll, and invited to dance the night away. Most rememberable new props were a giant hand that reached out to grab you at one point and a new animated monster with glowing eyes. There were two mist sections this time, and the usual graveyard scene. There was also a dance scene (of course), depicting all sorts of monsters dancing together.
In addition to the houses they had the usual mini Escape Games and Zombie shootout. There were Valentine’s day themed alcoholic drinks for purchase, as well as date night packages.
It was another fun night at Nashville Nightmare. The houses, the actors, and the staff are what keeps us coming back. If you haven’t been yet, what are you waiting for?
