Maddi Jane (The Voice) Q&A

You made it to the semifinals on Season 25 of The Voice. What was that experience like?

It was one of the most encouraging and growth provoking musical experiences of my life. I was really fortunate be paired with extremely kind musicians and it brought my dreams to life in so many ways.

What made you choose Team Chance?

I looked up to him a lot growing up in the suburbs of Chicago. I love how he merged Gospel and Hip-Hop and I could hear his heart behind all his music. It inspired me to start creating songs that reflect my faith and also my love for RnB.

What was the biggest lesson you learned on The Voice?

I went into The Voice feeling weary from 10+ years in the entertainment industry, getting a 4 chair turn and heartfelt encouragement from the judges confirmed that this is still the path for me, and God has more for me to do in this space.

What is your favorite show memory?

Seeing my parents after the blinds and getting to celebrate with them.

Do you find yourself under pressure to live up to The Voice?

I started working immediately on my next project after I left the show. So no, I’ve stepped into a new chapter with a new audience.

Tell us about your newest single “Father’s House”.

I produced this song with my husband Julian, it really describes the safety and peace I feeling during prayer. It’s been so fun seeing it reach a new audience of people passionate about similar things.

What can you tell us about this new chapter in your life and music?

I got married 3 months ago, moved to Nashville from LA, and am releasing my first Christian EP “Almighty” on Nov 14th! 🙂

You went viral at age 11. Tell us about that experience.

It was awesome, it was very empowering, I gained a lot of performance and studio experience.

You’ve been doing music for 15 years. What keeps you going through the tough times?

I think my main motivator during tough times is the idea that the more people in the music industry that are genuine and kind and generous, the less young people will become misguided. I hope to be someone someday that can guide people well.

What’s next for you?

This EP and then sessions for next year’s project as well as finding the right partners for my next chapter.
