Please introduce yourself.

Hi, my name is Erin Kirby and I am a singer/songwriter from North Georgia.

Tell us about your newest project. What was the inspiration behind it and where can we check it out?

I am releasing an EP called In and Out of Love soon and it tells the story of a relationship that didn’t quite work out. This project consists of 5 of my favorite songs I’ve written.

How would you describe your music?

I like to say my music is “Adele country.” My newest project consists of songs that tell emotional stories with stripped production as well as ranging melodies.

How did you get started?

The first time I sang on stage was in a pageant at 8 years old. I knew from the moment I stepped on stage I wanted to be an artist. I soon jumped into songwriting and played every show I could.

Who are your biggest musical influences? Any other influences?

My biggest musical influences would be Adele, Chris Stapleton, Cody Johnson, and Jessie J. I look up to these artists because they all write incredible songs and distinctive tones. Outside of music I am inspired by my mother and father, they both are extremely hard workers and are very passionate about what they do.

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

The music industry can be tough and requires a lot of patience, but I love how it works, especially in Nashville. I do sometimes wish there was more room for the music to do the talking over everything else. I’ve found myself in situations where the music was not the biggest concern and as a creative that can be tough to navigate.

What sets you apart from other artists in your genre?

I think that the tone of my vocal and style of my music sets me apart from other artists in my genre. I feel that the music I am currently releasing is so authentic to myself and no one else can tell your story the way you can.

What is it about music that makes you feel passionate?

I know that I have been blessed with a gift from God and I never want to take it for granted. His love and His purpose for me keeps me motivated.

What’s next for you?

I have many more songs to release; we are just getting started.

What are your career goals in the next five years?

Within the next 5 years I would love to release a full album and tour the world with my music. I would also love the opportunity to write for other artists.
