Morgan Myles (The Voice) Q&A

You made it to the top 3 on The Voice in 2022. What was that experience like?

It was a crazy experience; one I will never forget. I truly never ever thought that I would go on a reality singing competition show. But after some tough times I felt it was worth a try. The show turned out to be a great thing for me, but LORD was it stressful!!!

What made you choose Team Camilo Cabello?

Camila and Gwen turned within a few seconds, and Camilla had blocked Gwen then soon after John and Blake turned their chairs. For me, I really wanted a female to help tell my story. I could tell Camila was very passionate about me and we also valued the same things. She’s a very good human being; I truly made the right decision because she really became a friend where we worked together and trusted one another. She was very present and there for me through the whole season.

What was the biggest lesson you learned on The Voice?

Probably to believe in myself… I’ve not had an easy road and it’s so easy to question myself. From the crew to the band, wardrobe, Camila, my story producer… They all kept saying how much of a true artist I was, how much I knew who I was and to please never give up. I truly needed that boost of confidence after being knocked down so many times in this tough industry.

What is your favorite show memory?

I think the week of the semifinals where I closed out the show playing the grand piano to “always remember us this way“. My parents had just gotten to LA after not seeing them for months. I had dedicated that performance to my cousin’s memory who we lost to glioblastoma brain cancer. It brought all of us to tears, and it brought his memory back to life that night. Also, I had called our grandmother right before I took the stage as she was watching the show live, she was so overwhelmed when I FaceTime her lol! She has now since passed away, but that moment I will always have.

Do you find yourself under pressure to live up to The Voice?

I think I always have pressure to continue to grow as an artist, not necessarily to live up the Voice because I was in Nashville for 17 years before the show. The show for me was a platform to help lead to bigger things, which it definitely did!!!

What have you been up to since The Voice?

A TON! A few weeks after the finale I got my Opry Debut finally at the Ryman Auditorium and then signed my first record deal with Blue Elan Records in LA. I’ve released my first live album on Vinyl and I’m about to release my upcoming Studio record that’s been a couple years in the making.

Tell us about your newest single “Que Sera Serenade”.

Que Sera Serenade “WHAT WILL BE WILL BE” a phrase I say quite often… this is my heartfelt anthem about embracing change and letting go of past headaches. The imagery of a cracked windshield symbolizes the imperfections and challenges we face, while the act of driving towards a mountain top represents a quest for clarity and peace. This song is the spirit of me surrendering to life’s uncertainties, with a sense of hope and liberation woven throughout. It’s my personal reflection on the journey of self-discovery, celebrating the idea that, despite the struggles, we can find joy and freedom in letting go, trusting that whatever happens next is meant to be.

What can you tell us about your upcoming album?

After breaking off my engagement a few months ago with my now ex-fiancé this album is a reflection of love, both good and bad, the faith and perseverance that gets wrapped up in it… it’s definitely a body of work expressing the falling in love highs to the emotional baggage that I shouldn’t have put up with so long.

You made your debut at the Grand Ole Opry. What was it like stepping into that circle?

It was probably the biggest day of my life so far. Getting that standing ovation after- it just didn’t feel real. I felt like finally I had gotten some recognition and respect from the city that I had called home for so long. That night represented all the blood, sweat and tears of all the long endless nights on the road playing over 1,000 shows… Honestly, I needed that validation to keep going.
