Please introduce yourself.

My Name is Megan Nadin. I’m a Singer-songwriter, producer and recording artist originally from Thunder Bay, ON, Canada – now based in Nashville, TN.

Tell us about your newest project. What was the inspiration behind it and where can we check it out?

My newest project is a song called “In Another Life,” inspired by an experience that felt like finding the right love at the wrong time.

Lyrically, it explores heartbreak with tones of self-awareness and empowerment—touching on what it means to walk away from something that, at its core, doesn’t feel right for you.

This is the first song I’ve ever released in 432 Hz, which is something I’m especially excited about! As someone who truly believes in the power of frequencies, I’m grateful I got to explore that with this track and add an extra layer of healing for the listener.

You can find “In Another Life” wherever you listen to music!

How would you describe your music?

I’d describe my music as a journey—one that tells a story both lyrically and sonically. It’s ethereal, organic, honest, and authentically me.

My taste in music is pretty eclectic, and I’d say my sound draws inspiration from a variety of artists and genres.

My earlier work has been compared to artists like Sia and Adele. More recently, I’ve been exploring the lighter parts of my voice, and people have likened that sound to artists such as Lizzy McAlpine and Billie Eilish.

While I understand the comparisons, my ultimate goal is to create a sound and style that feels distinctly my own.

How did you get started?

I started after years of songwriting behind closed doors. It was my wonderfully supportive parents who first encouraged me to start sharing my music—and I’m so grateful for that.

The more I shared, the more I was encouraged to pursue an artistic path that allowed me to keep doing what I love. I’ve never looked back!

Who are your biggest musical influences?

I’ve always been deeply drawn to artists who lead with emotion, honesty, and storytelling—artists like Alanis Morissette, Adele, Sleeping at Last, and bands like Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox Twenty, and Train. I’m especially influenced by voices that feel lived-in, lyrics that carry real weight, and music with soul.

That said, my biggest musical influence is my songbird of a grandmother. She’s a songwriter at heart, and I truly believe she planted and nurtured the seeds that helped me grow into the artist I am today.

As for other influences—my parents. From the very beginning, they encouraged me to face my fears and step into them in the name of sharing my art. I wouldn’t be having this conversation today without their love, support, and unwavering belief in me.

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

I’d love to see more value placed on authenticity over algorithms. There are so many incredible artists and storytellers whose voices deserve to be heard, but they often get lost in a system that prioritizes numbers over genuine connection.

I’d also love to see more support for mental wellness and the creation of sustainable career pathways—especially for independent artists who are navigating so much on their own.

What sets you apart from other artists in your genre?

My writing is what sets me apart. My songs are rooted in personal experience and in how I process the world—so by nature, they paint a picture only I could create.

I also approach songwriting in a way that’s deeply spiritual for me. Not to sound too “hippie-dippy,” but it feels meditative. I don’t try to control the process—I allow it to come through me. I believe that kind of intentionality results in music that feels distinct from others in my genre.

Recently, I’ve also started experimenting with producing songs outside of the standard 440 Hz frequency, choosing instead to work with alternative tunings like 432 Hz. The goal is to add another layer of healing to the listening experience—something that’s still relatively uncommon in the music world.

What is it about music that makes you feel passionate?

The fact that music has the power to move people without ever touching them—that’s what amazes me most. It allows us to connect, reflect, and heal. It often feels like a bridge between the seen and unseen, expressing what words alone sometimes can’t.

It’s magic—and for me, that invisible impact is what fuels my passion.

What’s next for you?

Definitely more original music! I’m also exploring new forms of collaboration—working with dancers, visual artists, and other creatives to bring fresh life and deeper dimension to each song. I truly believe art inspires art, and I’m excited to see where that leads.

I also want to keep finding more intimate ways for listeners to connect with my work—through live sessions, storytelling content, and small, intentional shows that create space for real connection.

What are your career goals in the next five years?

One of my biggest goals is to grow my audience through touring—building a community that allows me to amplify the activism I’m already doing around mental health and social/human rights. I’d love to create a space where my supporters and I can come together as one big team and heart, deciding collectively what causes and organizations we can support through my music next.

I also hope to have my foundation, None Forgotten Foundation, fully up and running. My vision is for it to become a home for the work I do at the intersection of music, advocacy, and philanthropy.

With all that said, I’ve learned that no matter how much we plan, sometimes God has other paths in mind. So ultimately, my goal is to keep creating music I’m proud of, and to continue connecting with people in ways that leave them feeling something they didn’t before they found it.
