Please introduce yourself.
Hi! I’m Ksenia, a singer, rapper, and comedian—which is a fancy way of saying I have a lot of feelings and I like to make people laugh. I grew up in a tiny Russian village, but now I’m living in LA, chasing my dreams. My music is catchy, quirky, and sometimes downright ridiculous—because why take life too seriously?
Tell us about your newest project.
My latest single, FAKE, dropped on October 11! It’s all about those frustrating, superficial people we’ve all had to deal with (you know who you are). It’s got a beat you can dance to while angrily thinking about fake friends. Available on all streaming platforms.
How would you describe your music?
Imagine if Britney Spears, Doja Cat, and a stand-up comedian had a baby. That’s basically my music—pop with a twist of rap and a lot of jokes. If you want to dance, laugh, and maybe question reality, I’ve got you covered.
How did you get started in music?
I started out singing sad pop songs because, well, I’m Russian, and we’ve got a talent for suffering. But then, something unexpected happened—people started laughing at my shows. Not in a “she’s bad” way, but because they got my sense of humor. So I thought, why not lean into it? And now, I’m out here singing my heart out while making people laugh. Best accidental career shift ever.
Who are your biggest musical influences?
Britney Spears, obviously—I used to dream of being the Russian version of her. I also love Doja Cat because she’s hilarious, fierce, and totally owns her sound. Rihanna is a fashion icon and I adore Lil Dicky because when I heard “Freaky Friday,” I was like, “Yes! Pop music and comedy can work together!”
If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
I’d love it if the industry didn’t make you feel like you have to pick one thing. I do music, comedy, and rap—I’m basically a human buffet of entertainment. We need more space for artists who refuse to fit into a single box.
What sets you apart from other artists in your genre?
My blend of comedy and music is definitely unique. You’ll be dancing one minute and laughing the next. My shows are like a musical roller coaster with punchlines.
What is it about music that makes you feel passionate?
Music lets me be fully myself—silly, serious, emotional, and a little weird, all at once. It’s a universal language that helps you connect with people deeply while still having fun. Plus, it’s a lot cheaper than therapy.
What’s next for you?
Surprisingly enough, I’m working on a fun Christmas record and heading to Nashville next week to record it. So, keep an ear out for a festive holiday bop coming your way soon!
What are your career goals for the next five years?
In five years, I want to be headlining my own comedy tours, releasing more music, and maybe even starring in a comedy series or movie. Ultimately, I want to keep making people laugh and feel like anything is possible—even if you’re just a Russian girl with big dreams and a sense of humor.
