Was invited to cover Hanson’s “Underneath Experience Tour” in Nashville. This tour, the boys were doing two different shows in each city. The first night, an acoustic set. The second, electric. Halloween was night two, and fans were decked out in costumes, adding a festive atmosphere.

I’ve been a fan of Hanson’s music for over two decades, so I was stoked to get the opportunity to attend and get an up-close view of the show. The first three songs I was busy taking photos which was fine being it was mostly newer stuff I wasn’t familiar with. They opened with a song called “Optimistic”, and had the crowds attention from the first note.

Highlights for me included a few of my favorites “Penny & Me”, “If Only”, “Where’s The Love”, and of course “Mmmbop”. I also enjoyed seeing Zac step out from behind the drums for his turn in the spotlight on “Weird”.

I’ve been told that night one was a bit too mellow, so night two was right up my alley. The whole set was full of energy, with the final few given an extra burst. Isaac, Taylor, and Zac may be a lot older now, but they can still put on one heck of a show. If anything, this time has allowed them to continue to grow musically and explore different sub-genres.

And the fans have grown up with the boys. Some had parents in tow, others had brought their own kids. Many had fond memories of the band from childhood. It was cool seeing multiple generations enjoying the same music and being taken back to my earlier years as well. Thank you to Hanson and team for a great night!
