Had the pleasure of attending CMT’s Next Women of Country Artist Showcase at City Winery the other night, and what an evening it was. Full of talented women sharing their stories and performing their songs for an intimate crowd.

Round 1 featured music from Twinnie, Mackenzie Carpenter, Reyna Roberts, Roberta Lea and Clare Dunn. All were good but Reyna Roberts stuck out with her bubbly personality and big vocals.

Round 2 featured music from American Idol Alum HunterGirl, America’s Got Talent Alum Chapel Heart, Abbey Cone, Kylie Frey, and Stephanie Quayle. As an American Idol viewer I especially enjoyed getting to hear HunterGirl, who did not disappoint. Chapel Heart’s harmonies were a close second.

Special performances from Priscilla Block and Colbie Callait. Colbie served as mentor to all of the girls, and performed her hit “Bubbly” as a treat. Priscilla Block played co-host all night with Leslie Framm from CMT, and performed her new single “Good On You”. Been hearing a lot about Priscilla for a few years so glad I got the chance to see her as well.

All in all it was a very enjoyable evening. Thanks to City Winery for the invite! Keep supporting independent female artists!
