What was the inspiration behind “County Line” and what message do you hope listeners take from the song?
A lot of life lessons inspired this EP, especially with the title track being “ County Line.” I was going through healing and finding myself when I was writing these songs with my co writer Sam Woods. The message I want to share with that particular song is that sometimes you have to take chances to find your purpose. Chase your dreams and see where it may lead. It could turn out better than you ever could have imagined.
How would you describe your sound? How did you get started?
I started singing in church when I was 5 years old. I knew at a very young age that pursuing music is what I wanted to do. I would describe my music as authentic country with a bluesy sound and elements of country rock as well on some songs.
Who are your biggest musical influences? Do you have any other influences?
Some of my musical influences are George Strait, Dolly Parton and Reba to name a few. Their music truly inspired me when I was younger and still do today. I also have been greatly influenced by my producer, Sal Oliveri. He believed in me and my music, because of his encouragement I was able to find the artist inside of me that I truly wanted to be .
If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
The industry itself is just very tough. I think to be in the music industry you have to have thick skin. I wouldn’t change anything about it because the hard times are what made me the determined person I am today in all aspects of my life.
What sets you apart from other artists in your genre?
There are so many incredible singers and performers in this industry. I strive everyday to be the best version of myself that I can be. I think I bring a unique element of authenticity when it comes to who I am and my music. I have found that it’s ok to be vulnerable and share the good times and bad with my fans. My goal has always been to make a difference in the lives of others and through music that’s what I am able to do.
What is it about music that makes you feel passionate?
Music can heal, make you cry, bring happiness and take you back to a memory. Music is powerful and that’s why I’m so passionate about it. To be able to express yourself through music is an incredible feeling.
What’s next for you?
I am continuing to write music, work in the studio and travel promoting my EP. I will have another single release in May which I am so excited about. A lot of great things are on the horizon!
What are your career goals in the next five years?
Continue doing what I love. I hope to be on a headlining tour. Would love to have the songs I write recorded by other artists as well. Still chasing my dreams and making an impact!
