|MEET TEDDY EDWARDS:
Meet Teddy Edwards, a seventeen year old
pop artist with big city dreams.
Born and bred in New York City, Teddy has
gotten used to living a fast paced, hectic
lifestyle. And he wouldn't have it
any other way. "Right now Los
Angeles is the Epicenter of music. Same
with New York, but right now it's mainly
the business side." Teddy says, adding
that there are so many great
While produced in LA, Edward's debut
single "My Name" was actually written in
Nashville. He visited back in 2014 and
thoroughly enjoyed the town's songwriting
Teddy may be young, but he's already been
making music for years. He started playing
piano at four, learned guitar at age
eight, and was performing by age nine.
Songwriting was soon to follow.
He credits his co-writers and producers
with being mentors, and has learned
valuable lessons from them. "A lot of
people have been there for me, showing me
what ideals are important, and how to stay
true to yourself." Upon recommendation
that he learn more about the production
side, Teddy bought Pro-Tools and started
playing around on his computer, creating
music. While his first single was produced
by others Teddy is excited to have tracks
he did produce on his soon to be released
Teddy actually had "My Name" just about
wrapped up back in 2015, but decided to
wait before putting it out. He's
taken the past two years to develop his
style and grow. Edward's confesses he held
onto the song for awhile, because he
wanted to be completely sure he was ready
musically and personally. "Once it's out
there and you start going for it that's
when people start looking at you."
His influences include Ed Sheeran
and Ryan Tedder (One Republic).
"It's good to see people like that in the
music industry where all the fame doesn't
get to their head."
While he loves the single, he says he
finds it a bit young sounding and is
looking to mature and grow in his music.
Style was Bieber and Maroon 5 are
mentioned. When asked about the EP, we're
told it's a mix of juno based synth with a
futuristic yet retro vibe. Something
similar to the Strangers soundtrack, with
a mix of Pop and R&B thrown in.
Right now this new artist is focused on
finishing his debut EP. He's working hard,
writing non-stop, and making sure
everything on the production side is
exactly how he wants it. "I'm really
excited, because it's showing what's going
on in my life right now. The sound is new
and unique, not feeding into the trends."
Be sure to keep your eyes and ears open
for more on this new artist.
