My name is Emily Rae! I am an 18 year old pop artist and songwriter.
How would you describe your sound?
My sound is very fresh, but has a lot of emotion and feeling.
Tell us about your newest single or project?
My debut single “Make It Up” is coming out this month, and I cannot wait for the world to hear it! It is inspired by quarantine, but it can resonate with many different situations. It brings a hopeful message to being away from someone you love for a long time. Wether it’s not seeing your boyfriend because of quarantine, having to move away from your best friend, etc.
How did you get started?
I started singing and performing on stages when I was 8 years old! It was something I feel I was just born to do. I started taking it more seriously when I was in middle school and decided to move across the country away from my family to pursue music more seriously.
Who are your musical influences?
My musical influences are Ariana Grande, Jessie J, and Carrie Underwood. Carrie Underwood is a very special one for me, because I grew up listening to all of her songs and she is the reason I decided I wanted to be a famous singer!
Career highlights so far?
My career highlights so far would be touring the U.S as an opening act and getting to connect with and perform for fans all over the country. I also attended the Radio Disney music awards and met Carrie Underwood which was insane!
Why did you get into music?
I think I was drawn to music from a young age because of my crazy lifestyle. My father was a Marine, so I was constantly moving around and he wad gone on deployments a lot as well. Music quickly became my outlet and safe place for when I didn’t know really how to deal with the crazy lifestyle.
How have the past 6 months affected you in a positive way?
The last six months have definitely given me so time to write tons of music and I’m so grateful for that. Aside from music, I have used this time at home to really work on myself and self love. Being forced to stay home with myself has really helped me with through some things personally.
Do you support any worthy causes?
Yes, I support a lot of mental health movements. For example, the “body positive” movement is one i really love.
What are your goals in the next 5 years?
My goals in the next five years are to come out with an album, get signed to a major label, and go on a world tour!
